Our Aim

The OLP seeks to bring about a Learning County where:

All individuals beyond the age of compulsory education know where to seek advice about further learning and
are offered high quality and impartial information and guidance

People participate in learning irrespective of their race, gender, religion, and ability or where they live

Learning providers readily collaborate if it will improve the effectiveness of learning for particular individuals,
communities or employers

All formal learning opportunities have clearly stated purposes and outcomes and it is clear to learners
how they fit into the system of qualifications and accreditation

All learners

- have the support they require to complete their learning episode (for example, finance, transport, childcare, mentoring)

- have access to appropriate ICT facilities and

- can learn at a place and pace that suits their individual needs

All employers

- offer practical support to the learning system (for example, work experience) and know how to voice their needs and views

- know where to seek advice about learning opportunities

- provide learning opportunities for their employees and seek IIP as a recognition of their commitment
